1. Jet - Another term for the nozzle in the printhead portion of the printer or cartridge.

2. JPEG - (Joint Photographic Experts Group) A standard established by the Joint Photographic Experts Group for compressing images with slight degradation in image quality.

3. JPEG File Interchange Format - (JFIF) A file format enabling the transfer of JPGE image files between applications and across platforms.

4. Jumper - A small moveable connector used to establish a connection between parts of an electrical circuit. Often used to set preferences such as main or slave in the case of hard disks and printers.

5. Justified - The alignment of a block of text such that the spacing between characters is automatically adjusted achieving the appearance of a straight vertical line on both the left and right edges. This gives a more formal look.
