1. Oblique - A slanting version of a font. Oblique is differentiated from italic by using a regular rather than script font as the source. However, these days any slanting font is generally referred to as Italic.
2. OCR - Acronym for Optical Character Recognition, the process of recognizing letters, numbers and other symbols in a scanned document and creating an electronic text file version of same.
3. OEM - Original Equipment Manufacturer or a manufacturer that is contracted by and OEM.

6. Orientation - The direction of the printed image in relation to the page. Printing across the width of the page is called portrait, whereas across the length is called landscape.
7. Outline Fonts - Fonts that are stored as a set of mathematical equations for reconstructing the characters rather than bitmaps of each pixel within the character. This enables the fonts to be scaled to any size without any loss of details. Also called scaleable fonts.
